Until we go to grandma and grandpa's house, that is.
Doing this brought back so many memories of spending the afternoon with my friend and next-door neighbor, raking up giant piles of maple leaves and then taking turns diving into the piles, then burying ourselves in the sweet, crunchy leaves. I want a maple tree in our own yard for this reason alone, but Kevin is more practical than I am and isn't excited about actually having to clean up and bag all those leaves. (We'll see, Kev. We'll see.)
I'm sure grateful my mom thought to suggest we play in the leaves with the kids. They absolutely loved it!
I always loved how after the first storm in Fall, the leaves left imprints on the cement on campus. And the smell!
