Merry (Late) Christmas!

I'm finally getting around to taking our Christmas pictures off of the camera - better late than never! We had a really great Christmas. The only damper was the Kevin had to work Christmas Eve, but we were still able to have a late (but very yummy) dinner when he got home. Judging from the cheesy smile, I'm guessing he approved of my cooking. :)

Christmas morning was spent just us in our apartment opening presents. It was fun but very quiet and I couldn't help but think about next year when we'll have an almost-1-year old to liven things up! It's weird to think this is our last Christmas together just the two of us. Since Kevin didn't give me many ideas about what to get him for Christmas this year, I decided to get creative and give him a "Daddy Survival Kit." Among other things, it included a new pillow to help him catch some zzz's after sleepless nights, pizza gift certificates for when I'm not exactly in the mood to cook a gourmet meal, a Willow Tree statue (we both really like these), and my personal fave: a diaper changing kit that had silly things like goggles, a mask, air freshener, and tongs. Anyone who's heard Kevin talk about changing diapers knows this is PERFECT for him. To put it mildly, he's not exactly looking forward to the experience - maybe his "kit" will help! :)

After our morning together, we made a quick trip to Tremonton to see the Humpherys and exchange gifts with them and then we headed to West Valley for a few days. While we were there, we got a rare picture with my whole family...

...and one of the kids sporting Chicago hoodies from my parent's trip there a few weeks ago. Of course while we were posing, everyone had to take the opportunity to tease me about my belly - thus the silly expressions in the second picture.

Overall, we had a great Christmas and really enjoyed the time we got to spend with family and with each other. And now... on to a new year! Happy 2008!
