(This is the last Sadie post. I'm seriously impressed if you've made it through all of them. And now, I'm taking a blogging break in order to get this messy house of mine organized!)
We went to the doctor today and Sadie weighs 30 lbs and is 37 3/4 inches tall. That's 50th and 70th percentile. I've had a lot of people telling me what a "big" girl she is lately (which kind of bugs me, actually), but apparently she's just average - and maybe a bit taller than normal.
The doctor was also very impressed with her "smarts." She drew a circle and an "x" for him, counted out some pencils, told him what colors they were, and told him what letter her name starts with.
Her favorite food is pancakes.
She's very shy around adults she doesn't know and only speaks in whispers. But put her with kids of any age and she makes instant friends. In fact, she even calls random kids in the grocery store her "fwends."
She sings almost constantly. Ninety percent of the time, it's not a recognizable song - she makes up her own words and tune and just goes with it.
She entered the "why?" phase just about a week ago with almost no warning. For example, the other day, our conversation went like this:
Sadie: Mommy, why you fixing dinner?
Me: Because it's time to eat.
Sadie: Why it time to eat?
Me: Because our tummies are hungry.
Sadie: Why our tummies hungry?
Me: Because there's no food in them.
Sadie: Why there no food in our tummies?
Me: Because we haven't had anything to eat in awhile.
And on... and on... and on. This takes serious patience (and creativity) on my part.
Instead of being afraid of monsters like a normal preschooler, she's actually afraid of alligators (or "a-yee-gators," in Sadie speak).
She's in a serious dress-up phase right now. I have to use all my best persuasive skills to get her out of her princess clothes so we can go to the store or go to bed.
Her favorite TV show is Dora the Explorer (she did not get a love of this show from me).
She absolutely adores all of her grandparents. Especially the grandmas. She could care less whether Kevin or I are around as long as she has a grandparent to entertain her.

ReplyDeletehehe! So cute! And I'm sure when people tell you how big sadie is getting what they actually mean is she's growing up so fast. ;) I like the sadie posts and hearing all the funny thing she says. haha!
ReplyDeleteoh man, she is so dang CUTE!!! i love how she calls random kids her fwends! so cute! oh my goodness & what a smarty pants-just like her momma! It has been so fun to see a little glimpse of your life as Sadie's momma! She is a doll!
ReplyDeleteoh & i remember learning in one of my child development classes to start asking questions back when she bombards you with "why" ... not saying it always works but it's worth a try :)
