Christmas Magic

And magic it was. Christmas at our house was loads of fun. And blissfully uneventful, unlike the ER visit last year (believe me, Sadie was barricaded from that hot oven and diligently watched over by my best mommy radar).

And the toys. Oh my, the toys. We’re bursting at the seams with toys. We now have four baby dolls (yes, four) residing in our little apartment. Not to mention the deluxe stroller and wide array of baby necessities spread everywhere.

Also included on the Sadie present roster: a V Tech reading pen with books, a toy helicopter, two Little People sets, snow boots, Magic Wonder coloring books, a CD full of “dancing” songs for kids, the Hungry Caterpillar book, and new clothes.

Our Christmas Eve was marked by the usual working til late (Kevin), cooking craziness (Natalie), and general silliness (Sadie and maybe a little bit of Natalie). By the time Kev finally got home, we had just enough time to enjoy our nice meal...

And open Sadie’s Christmas pajamas. (She was so excited to see a "nowman!")

Then it was off to bed for Sadie while mommy and daddy stayed up late slaving over these divine cinnamon rolls (totally worth it, by the way – they were amazing!)

Christmas morning with just the three of us was just perfect. Quiet. Peaceful. I love that we get that time for just our little family. Poor Sadie was woken up by her overeager daddy and mommy earlier than she wanted to be, but once she figured out that opening presents was on the agenda, she perked right up. Gift unwrapping held much more allure than it did last year, and I now have a 23-month old pro present unwrapper on my hands.

Making sure the baby receives lots of attention. The cutest thing is how she slings the diaper bag over her shoulder.

Next came time to see the family. We spent most of the next few days with my family, but did get to drop in on Kevin's little family party for a few hours. More presents were to be had and a certain little girl came out of the whole day quite spoiled. Her parents may have been spoiled a bit too. :)
